Ahhh… after a super long break of about 18 years, I am amazed and excited to see the name of Shaq Fu shining on the horizon again.
Those who are blessed with a great memory must remember the game, for those who
eat almonds to sharpen their memory, Shaq Fu is a 2D fighting game that
featured popular basketball star Shaquille O'Neal (also known as Shaq). The
game was released by Electronic Arts in October 1994 and received many negative
reviews; it even won the worst video game title by Gametrailers. You must be
thinking, what’s the point in discussing the old forgotten game? Folks, brace
yourself to see its follow-up, ShaqDown which is scheduled to land this
month for Android and iOS fans.
ShaqDown will be released by Hiptic Games, the developers of
smashing hit Go Ninja. The game has been designed after a lot of research, as stated by Long
Vo, Hiptic Games co-founder and creative director. It “is set in a
postapocalyptic world where Shaq has become a legend, and it’s up to him to
save humanity from mutant zombies.”
Yes, you will be getting a fierce face-off between the
powerful Shaq and evil squad of zombies that have returned from the hell. The
best part is that Hiptic Games has given special attention to game controls,
which was extremely criticized in Shaq Fu. I am looking forward to see Shaq back
in action after so long, what about you? The date of impact is not finalized
but hopefully Android, iPhone and iPad owners will be able to enjoy ShaqDown before the New Year rings the
chimes.
