Quick Review: Duolingo for Android and iPhone

If you would be given a chance to learn another language for free, what language will you choose? English, French, German, Portuguese, Italian or Spanish? Don’t search the web for learning, Duolingo is determined to teach you, right from your Android smartphone. Here is the quick review of the app.

The popular free language learning game is launched to promote free education without any language barrier. The game was already released for web and iPhone but now it is shipped to the Play Store. Duolingo is easy to play, you will be practicing lessons in your favorite language with three hearts intact. Missing a question will remove one heart out of three. You can miss maximum four questions per lesson and proceed to the next. It uses timed practice trainings, with images and sounds, to help you learn your preferred language and offers shiny achievements to track your progress. Duolingo allows you to start your exercise from where you have left as it syncs with web-based profile and practice. The company recently added speech recognition for iPhones but this feature is missing from the Android variant.

Duolingo doesn’t support large screen devices so you cannot take language lessons on iPad and Android tablets. It has no fees, ads or hidden charges. Download it to learn English, Italian, French, Portuguese, German or Spanish, and share your learning experience here.
