If you love to try new features on
your Android device, enjoy playing with ROMS, mods and flashes then you have probably
heard about Carbon, the famous mobile backup app developed by Koushik Dutta. News is that the powerful
syncing and backup solution is now renamed to Helium. The developer and founder
of ClockworkMod recovery was notified of a possible trademark infringement in
February by Carbonite Software, a backup solution for desktops and mobile.
Helium lets you back up ap and store
data to your SD card or cloud storage, without the need of root. You can also
sync data from other Android devices, even if they are on other network. Dutta also pushed few bugfixes like universal ADB driver. The premium license
of the app will be available soon.
Helium is available both as free
and premium versions. The premium app features cloud storage, automatic back up
schedule and can be enjoyed without advertisements. If you can compromise on any of these features, go for Helium free version. The app is getting fabulous
reponse since its arrival and is going better with each update. Helium doesn’t
support Motorola devices and some Sony smartphones, because they feature a bug
that break Android backup mechanism.
