Facebook Poke lets you poke text, photos and videos

Are you a big poker at Facebook or just like me who has hardly pressed the Poke button in lifetime? Well if you fall in the former category Facebook Inc, has brought a good news for you- the social giant has given this feature a big overhaul and has released it as a standalone app, Facebook Poke for iOS users.

Facebook Poke brings nothing extraordinary, it is a mishmash of other Facebook apps, like Instagram, Messenger and Camera and enables a user to poke his friends with messages, photos and videos. The content sent via this app disappears within 10 seconds of opening them. In case you are wondering how you can use it, Facebook Poke can be helpful if you want to send something to a friend but you don’t want him to download or share it. So if you want to make someone see your wedding picture, just poke it to him, he has only few seconds to view that picture and during this time period the recipient has to press and hold the screen otherwise the picture will vanish. Once the time slot (of 10 seconds) is completed the content is erased forever, even from the sender's device. However if you want to see who has poked you and who you have poked, it can be checked from the log.

Yes, it works just like Snapchat which removes the messages after they are read. With Facebook Poke, you can send a short video, photo or a text up to 120 characters and set a time about how long (lets say 1, 3, 5 or 10 seconds) can a person see your message. The choice is yours- if you have 8.6 MB of spare memory, you can download this free app on iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. Let me know about your thoughts after trial.
