Carbon, backup app for Android renamed to Helium


If you love to try new features on your Android device, enjoy playing with ROMS, mods and flashes then you have probably heard about Carbon, the famous mobile backup app developed by Koushik Dutta. News is that the powerful syncing and backup solution is now renamed to Helium. The developer and founder of ClockworkMod recovery was notified of a possible trademark infringement in February by Carbonite Software, a backup solution for desktops and mobile.



Helium lets you back up ap and store data to your SD card or cloud storage, without the need of root. You can also sync data from other Android devices, even if they are on other network. Dutta also pushed few bugfixes like universal ADB driver. The premium license of the app will be available soon.

Helium is available both as free and premium versions. The premium app features cloud storage, automatic back up schedule and can be enjoyed without advertisements. If you can compromise on any of these features, go for Helium free version. The app is getting fabulous reponse since its arrival and is going better with each update. Helium doesn’t support Motorola devices and some Sony smartphones, because they feature a bug that break Android backup mechanism.
